The site lists “Opening Week from 11-16 January” and says “Main-draw action at AO 2027 begins 17 January.” The finals “will be held on 30 and 31 January.” Melbourne is far ahead of the United States and the United Kingdom (UK), so much of the play lands overnight or on the previous evening for viewers there. The 2027 order of play is not yet published. For 2026, Ticketmaster’s session listings showed night sessions at 7 p.m. local time on Rod Laver Arena. The Associated Press (AP), through the Lawrence Journal-World, reported that the first Rod Laver match on opening day started at 11:30 a.m. Day sessions on Rod Laver were usually 11:30 a.m. that year, and outside courts started at 11 a.m. local time. The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Tour reported in January 2026 that extreme heat can move start times.
