Editorial Policy

Last updated

This policy explains how Fresh Calendars News reports. It applies to every story under /news/.

Sources

Every date we publish is checked against a primary source before publication: a law or regulation, a government agency notice (for example the US Office of Personnel Management), a school district announcement, or an official organizer. Sources are listed at the end of each story with a link. When a date is an estimate, the story says so.

Accuracy

Each story states the full date, the day of the week and, when it matters, the time and time zone (Eastern Time unless stated). Dates are checked against the same calendar engine that produces our printable calendars.

Use of tools

We use software, which may include AI tools, for research, drafting and checks. A person on the news desk reviews every story, checks each date against its source and approves it before it is published. We do not publish stories that have not been reviewed.

Ethics

We do not accept payment for coverage. Advertising and affiliate links are kept separate from stories, and advertisers have no influence over what we report. Our income sources are described in our disclosure.

Updates

When a story changes after publication, the update time is shown next to the publication time. Corrections of errors follow our corrections policy.

Feedback

Readers can report an error or send a tip through the contact form. See the corrections policy for what happens next.
