PEAK on PS5: $9.99 Price, Crossplay With Steam and What to Know Before You Buy

PEAK launched on PlayStation 5 (PS5) on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026, for $9.99 in the U.S. as a digital download, with crossplay across Steam, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. Landfall and Aggro Crab made the co-op climbing game. It has no cross-save and no online matchmaking, and online play on console needs a subscription.

The console prices come from the PlayStation Store, Xbox Wire and the Nintendo store. The PS5 version includes all content updates, biomes and items added since the original launch, according to the PlayStation Blog. Prices elsewhere may differ.

Crossplay: who can play with whom

Landfall’s frequently asked questions (FAQ) page says co-op works across Steam, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PS5. A group of up to four, you plus three friends, can mix those platforms. The official pages we checked do not list menu steps for joining from another platform.

What you pay for online play

Online play on console needs a subscription: PlayStation Plus (PS Plus) on PS5, Nintendo Switch Online (NSO) on Switch 2 and Xbox’s online subscription on Xbox, according to Landfall’s FAQ, the PlayStation Store and the Nintendo store. Solo offline play works without one. The listings name subscriptions for consoles only.

No cross-save

Landfall’s FAQ is direct: “There is no save progress transfer for PEAK to other platforms.” Progress on PS5 stays on PS5. The Nintendo store lists NSO Save Data Cloud for Switch 2. That backs up a save on that console and does not carry it to another platform.

No matchmaking

Landfall’s FAQ says PEAK has no online matchmaking. You play with friends you invite. A solo player has the offline single-player mode.

Split-screen and the disc edition

The official listings describe online co-op only. None of the pages we checked lists split-screen or couch co-op, so we cannot say it exists. The Oct. 22 console release is digital only. A PS5 physical edition with Skybound Games is announced for Dec. 9, 2026, at $19.99 in the U.S., according to the developers’ press release as reported by TheSixthAxis; the official store pages we checked do not list it yet.

What is in the game

PEAK is a co-op climbing game. The map rotates every 24 hours, “a new island each day,” the PlayStation Store says. The route to the Peak crosses four biomes, and the PlayStation Blog lists the hazards: tornadoes, poison clouds, birds and zombies. Landfall’s FAQ mentions the Citadel and Gloom biomes from the August final major update, which the PS5 version includes.

Accessibility and rating

Landfall’s FAQ describes a settings option to reduce head bobbing, which helps with motion sickness. The PlayStation Store lists “Accessibility features (8)” but the part we checked does not name them. The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) rating is Everyone 10+ with Fantasy Violence and Users Interact.

Is it worth it?

This section is our judgment, based only on the facts above.

• It suits a group of up to four who want a $9.99 co-op game and already have a console subscription, or a player who wants a solo offline game. Friends on different platforms can play together.
• Consider waiting if you expect to move a save between platforms, want to join strangers through matchmaking, or need split-screen on one TV. None of those is offered or listed. If you already own it on Steam for $3.99, the PS5 version does not carry your progress.

First-climb checklist

1. Check that everyone who plays online on console has an active subscription.
2. Invite your friends; there is no matchmaking.
3. Expect a new island every 24 hours, so a run today will not repeat tomorrow.
4. Open the settings and reduce head bobbing if motion bothers you.
5. Stay together on the way up.
