Dallas ISD Calendar 2026-27: Winter Break Dec. 21 to Jan. 4, Spring Break March 15-19 and Last Day May 26

Dallas Independent School District (ISD) lists Thanksgiving Break from Monday, Nov. 23 to Friday, Nov. 27, 2026, and Winter Break from Monday, Dec. 21, 2026 to Monday, Jan. 4, 2027, on its 2026-2027 Calendar/Calendario PDF. Spring Break is March 15-19, 2027, and the last day of class is Wednesday, May 26. The next day off is Tuesday, Nov. 3, a professional development (PD) day on the calendar.

Dallas ISD 2026-27 breaks

Break	Dates	Weekdays
Fall Break (past)	Thu.-Fri., Oct. 8-9, 2026	2
Thanksgiving Break	Mon.-Fri., Nov. 23-27, 2026	5
Winter Break	Mon., Dec. 21, 2026 to Mon., Jan. 4, 2027	11
Spring Break	Mon.-Fri., March 15-19, 2027	5

The weekday counts are ours, computed from the printed dates. The first day of class was Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2026. After Winter Break, the calendar marks Tuesday, Jan. 5 as a professional development day and starts the next grading period on Wednesday, Jan. 6; check with your school for the return day, because the PDF does not say whether students attend on Jan. 5.

Dallas ISD’s spring break falls a week after Houston ISD’s spring recess (March 8-12), which we cover in our Houston ISD calendar story. For how other districts set theirs, see our spring break 2027 roundup.

What is the March 26 holiday?

Friday, March 26, 2027 is listed as a holiday, and the PDF does not name it. It is the Friday before Easter, which falls on Sunday, March 28 on the calendar’s second page. Passover begins at sunset on Wednesday, April 21, 2027, according to a note on the same page.

Which days are listed for inclement weather?

The calendar lists Monday, March 29 and Monday, April 19, 2027 as inclement weather days. It does not say whether these are school days, so check with your school whether they are used.

Do some Dallas ISD campuses have extra days?

Yes. Some campuses follow an Additional Days School Year (ADSY) schedule. The district’s calendar page lists an “ADSY Campuses Instructional Day” on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026. See the district’s ADSY page for how it works.

When does the school year end?

The last day of class is Wednesday, May 26, 2027, an early release day for all schools. Thursday, May 27 is a teacher workday, and Memorial Day is Monday, May 31.

The district can change its calendar, so check the Dallas ISD district calendar before you book travel. The PDF does not print a board approval date. Our free printable lists every no-class and early release day on one page; for the whole year on paper, use the printable school-year calendar, or plan around the November 2026 and December 2026 calendars. Our Thanksgiving break roundup shows how other large districts set the same week.
