Georgia voters elect a U.S. senator, a governor and six other statewide officials on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026, and decide three constitutional amendments. Advance in-person voting is already underway and runs through Friday, Oct. 30. Because Georgia requires candidates to win a majority, some races could continue to a runoff on Tuesday, Dec. 1.

Offices on the ballot

The Georgia Secretary of State’s list of federal and state offices up in 2026, published Jan. 29, includes:

OfficeTerm
U.S. senatorSix years
GovernorFour years
Lieutenant governorFour years
Secretary of stateFour years
Insurance and fire safety commissionerFour years
Labor commissionerFour years
Agriculture commissionerFour years
State school superintendentFour years
U.S. HouseAll 14 districts
State Senate and State HouseAll 56 and all 180 seats

Gov. Brian Kemp is term-limited, so the governor’s race is open. Georgia’s Supreme Court and Court of Appeals seats are filled in nonpartisan elections held with the spring primary rather than in November. Your sample ballot, available on the state’s My Voter Page, lists every certified candidate and your local races.

The three amendments

All three were placed on the ballot by the General Assembly with a two-thirds vote in each chamber and need a simple majority of voters to pass. News outlets have numbered them differently, so match them by subject on your sample ballot.

Farmland and timberland. Raises the cap on how much land one owner can enroll in the conservation-use property tax program, from 2,000 acres to 4,000 acres. Yes: raise the limit. No: keep 2,000 acres.

Probate judges. Requires all probate court judges to be chosen in nonpartisan elections, so candidates would no longer run under a party label. Yes: make the races nonpartisan. No: counties keep their current method.

Next Generation 9-1-1. Lets the General Assembly create a dedicated fund for 9-1-1 systems, with the money restricted to expanding, maintaining and operating emergency response. Yes: allow the fund. No: no dedicated fund.
