Girl Scout Cookies 2027: Two New Cookies Ship Jan. 12, Plus Council Start Dates

Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) said in a Sept. 8, 2026 release that Patch Pals, its first dog cookie, and Girl Scout Sparkables, its first allergy-friendly cookie, will be available exclusively online for direct shipping beginning Jan. 12, 2027, with the national launch of the 2027 cookie season. There is no single national start for booth and door-to-door sales: local dates vary by region, and the table below lists the four councils that have posted 2027 dates. GSUSA’s release does not list a price; check your council’s cookie page.

Girl Scout cookie 2027 start dates by council

GSUSA says cookie season is recognized nationally from January through April, though local dates vary by region. Its how-to-buy page says cookies are available starting as soon as Jan. 12, 2027, and that sales in your area can start earlier. Each council below gives its own dates on its own site.

What are the two new Girl Scout cookies for 2027?

Patch Pals, developed with the company Bark, are the soft-baked, blueberry muffin-flavored dog cookies, the first cookie created just for dogs, per GSUSA. The release does not describe them as a treat for people.

Girl Scout Sparkables were developed with Partake. GSUSA describes them this way: “in a facility designed to avoid the nine major food allergens, the crunchy oatmeal cookie features chocolate chips and is dotted with colorful sprinkles.” It calls them the first allergy-friendly Girl Scout cookie.

Both are sold differently from the classics. GSUSA says the new cookies “will be available exclusively online for shipping only during the 2027 Girl Scout Cookie season.” The release does not mention booth sales, so do not plan on finding them at a booth. Mark Tuesday, Jan. 12 on a January 2027 calendar as the day they become available.

Which classic cookies return, and why do names differ by baker?

GSUSA says the new cookies join beloved classics like Thin Mints, Samoas/Caramel deLites and Peanut Butter Patties/Tagalongs. Two names appear for some cookies because two bakers are licensed to make them. Little Brownie Bakers, a division of Ferrero U.S.A. and an official GSUSA licensee, calls them Samoas and Tagalongs. ABC Bakers is the other licensed baker.

Little Brownie Bakers’ site lists a 2026-27 lineup of nine cookies: Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Do-si-dos, Trefoils, Adventurefuls, Lemon-Ups, Exploremores and Toffee-tastic. ABC Bakers’ site names Thin Mints and Caramel deLites, but its 2027 lineup is not posted. The release names no retired cookie, so whether any has been dropped is not announced.

Which baker serves your area depends on your council, so the cookie names you see may differ from a friend’s in another state.

Where do the proceeds go, and what is not yet announced?

GSUSA says all proceeds stay local to support Girl Scout councils and troops.

Not yet announced or not found on pages we could read: a price per box, a date for National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend 2027, ABC Bakers’ full lineup, and 2027 dates for the councils listed above that had not posted them. Plan around the council dates in the table, and mark March 4 and the Feb. 5 to Mar. 14 booth window if you live where those councils operate. The February 2027 and March 2027 calendars have room for booth shifts and pickups.
