High School Football State Championships 2026: Dates and Stadiums by State

The University Interscholastic League (UIL) plays the Texas high school football state championships Wednesday to Saturday, Dec. 16-19, 2026, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, and the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) plays Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 15-16, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Michigan’s 8-player final on Saturday, Nov. 21 opens the title weekends among the states below, each read on its own association’s page on Nov. 6. Below: a state-by-state table, the weekends in order and the states that had not posted a date.

The MHSAA page lists “Friday and Saturday, November 27 and 28” with no year; those weekdays match 2026. The Indiana dates and venue are from the IHSAA’s 2026-27 State Tournament Series page. The Ohio venue is from the OHSAA’s 2026 tournament coverage page. The Pennsylvania page, dated Aug. 27, 2026, gives no city for Chapman Field. The NCHSAA says it will finalize which class plays at which of its three sites “after the final regional contests.”

Which state championship weekends come first?

In order of the first final day: Michigan’s 8-player final (Nov. 21), then Michigan’s 11-player finals and Indiana (Nov. 27-28), then Alabama (Dec. 2-5). Ohio, Tennessee and South Carolina start Dec. 3 or 4, ahead of Pennsylvania and North Carolina on Dec. 10-12. Georgia is Dec. 15-16 and Texas, Dec. 16-19, is last on this list. The Texas and Georgia finals overlap on Wednesday, Dec. 16.

Which states had not posted finals dates on Nov. 6?

Florida, California, Minnesota, Kentucky, Mississippi, Louisiana, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Arizona, Oklahoma and Virginia were not posted or not readable on an official page on Nov. 6, so no date is printed here for them.

What is not confirmed yet?

The GHSA page gives the date and stadium, and we could not confirm game times by class, so none are listed. The Alabama and Ohio pages read on Nov. 6 do not name a stadium; the Ohio venue comes from the OHSAA’s tournament coverage page.
