The Law School Admission Test (LSAT) runs on Nov. 11-14, 2026, but registration for it closed on Oct. 1, so anyone signing up now is looking at Jan. 13-16, 2027, with a deadline of Dec. 1, 2026. The Law School Admission Council (LSAC) lists five more administrations in the 2026-27 cycle, the last in June 2027.

How the three steps work
Register by the deadline in your LSAC account. Registration reserves a spot in that administration, not a specific day or time.
Schedule once scheduling opens, choosing a day and time within the test window and whether you will test remotely or at a test center, where available.
Write. LSAT Argumentative Writing is a separate, unscored section you complete online. It opens about a week before each test window, and LSAC requires a writing sample on file before it releases your score.
Which test should you take?
Law schools that admit on a rolling basis review files from the fall, so many applicants aim to finish testing by the November or January administration. The January exam returns scores on Feb. 3, and the February exam on March 3, which is late for some schools’ priority deadlines. April and June tests often suit people applying in the next cycle. Leave room for a retake: the gap from January to April is nearly three months.
