Niagara Falls Winter Festival of Lights 2026-27: Dates and Every Fireworks Night

The Winter Festival of Lights in Niagara Falls, Ontario, runs Saturday, Nov. 14, 2026 to Sunday, Jan. 10, 2027, and its fireworks are 5 minutes at 8 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) on 27 nights, according to Niagara Falls Tourism. Fridays and Saturdays from Nov. 14 to Dec. 12 and on Jan. 8 and 9 get a show, as does every night from Dec. 18 to Jan. 2. A date-by-date table, a printable and the parking and bus facts are below.

When are the Niagara Falls fireworks during the Winter Festival of Lights?

The festival’s schedule section lists three runs of fireworks, and says “all shows are 5 minutes at 8:00 pm.” The page’s shorter frequently asked questions section says only that the fireworks return every Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. from November to December, so the schedule section is the fuller list. We print it here.

Run	Fireworks nights	Count
Fridays and Saturdays, Nov. 14 to Dec. 12, 2026	Nov. 14, 20, 21, 27, 28, Dec. 4, 5, 11, 12	9
Nightly, Dec. 18, 2026 to Jan. 2, 2027	Every night in the span	16
Jan. 8 and 9, 2027	Fri., Jan. 8 and Sat., Jan. 9	2
Total 8 p.m. shows 27

The counts are our calculation from the organizer’s dates. Nov. 14 is a Saturday, so there is no Friday show on the first weekend. The organizer also lists an additional show on Dec. 31 at midnight that lasts 9 minutes, which brings the season to 28 shows. Niagara Falls Tourism’s separate fireworks page says the festival show lasts 5 minutes and gives no dates.

Which nights have no fireworks?

Going by the organizer’s list, these dates have no show:

• Sundays through Thursdays before Dec. 18: Nov. 15 to 19, Nov. 22 to 26, Nov. 29 to Dec. 3 and Dec. 6 to 10.
• Dec. 13 to 17.
• Jan. 3 to 7.
• Sunday, Jan. 10, the festival’s last day.

The lights themselves are on every night of the festival, so a night without fireworks still has the displays.

What are the Winter Festival of Lights hours and where are the displays?

The festival says its light displays are on nightly from 5 p.m. to midnight, including holidays. The majority of the lights and displays are along the Niagara Parkway, with additional illuminations in the Fallsview District and on Lundy’s Lane. No opening ceremony or illumination night for 2026 is listed on the festival page as of Nov. 5; we treat it as not announced.

The festival’s frequently asked questions section says it has no cost to attend and enjoy, and voluntary donations are accepted at Dufferin Islands to support those displays. The organizer describes it as Canada’s largest free outdoor festival.

Niagara Parks runs a separate Falls Illumination program that lights the Falls themselves. Its page lists 4:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. from Nov. 1 to Dec. 31 and 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. from Jan. 1 to Jan. 31. Those are not the festival’s display hours.

Parking and the WeGo bus for the festival

The festival recommends parking at your hotel and walking the illumination route, or taking the WeGo bus through the tourism districts.

Option	Cost in Canadian dollars (CAD)
Niagara Parks Dufferin Islands lot	$8 per hour
Niagara Parks Rainbow Bridge lot	$12 per hour
Niagara Parks Falls Parking (Lot A), gated	Variable
Free parking areas, south and north ends of the Niagara Parkway	Free; Niagara Parks lists over 60
WeGo adult pass	$16.00 for 24 hours, $20.00 for 48 hours
WeGo child pass	$12.00 for 24 hours, $16.00 for 48 hours

Niagara Parks says Rapidsview (Lot C) closes for the winter and that no Niagara Parks lot allows overnight parking. WeGo prices include tax, and the service runs year-round. Festival-night parking rates at Lot A and a WeGo schedule for festival nights are not published on the pages we read.

Festival of Lights dates to save in your calendar

The printable, “Niagara Falls Winter Festival of Lights Fireworks Dates 2026-27,” has seven key dates: the first night on Nov. 14, the last Friday-Saturday night of the first run on Dec. 12, the start of nightly shows on Dec. 18, New Year’s Eve, the last nightly show on Jan. 2 and the final weekend on Jan. 8 and 9. It converts the 8 p.m. ET start to Central, Mountain and Pacific Time. Add the rest from the table above to the November 2026 printable calendar, the December 2026 printable calendar and the January 2027 printable calendar.
