What should you do with the toothpaste?

NBC News wrote that “the safest move is to stop using the toothpaste immediately and toss it out.” Deseret News said consumers can throw it out or contact the retailer or manufacturer about refunds. NBC News added that neither the manufacturer nor the distributor has issued public guidance on returns or refunds, so a store may not have a process yet.

  1. Check the brand: Brush Buddies, evo or Aru.
  2. Check the size: 3.5 ounces or 4 ounces.
  3. If a tube matches, stop using it, as NBC News advises.
  4. Look up the lot in the FDA Enforcement Report, event 99849 once the record is available.
  5. Ask the retailer or manufacturer about a refund.
  6. Report a problem through FDA MedWatch.
