Arlington ISD Calendar 2026-27: Holidays, Winter Break, Spring Break and Last Day

Arlington Independent School District (ISD) in Texas lists Nov. 23-27, Dec. 21, 2026 to Jan. 1, 2027, and March 15-19, 2027, as Student & Staff Holiday weeks on its 2026-2027 student academic calendars. Students return Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2027, and the last day of school is Wednesday, May 26, 2027. The board approved the dates on Jan. 22, 2026.

The district posts an elementary and a secondary PDF on its District Events Calendar page. The next days off are the Thanksgiving week starting Monday, Nov. 23; the Nov. 2-3 days off have passed.

What are Arlington ISD’s breaks in 2026-27?

The district’s own label for all three weeks is “Student & Staff Holiday”. It does not print the words “spring break” or “winter break”; those are the common names, added here. Weekdays off and return days are our count from the district’s dates. The calendar shows no closure on Nov. 30 or March 22.

When do Arlington ISD students return after winter break?

On Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2027, by the calendar grid. The date list prints no return day, but the grid marks Jan. 6 as the start of the second semester. Students have two student holidays first: Monday-Tuesday, Jan. 4-5. With the weekdays from Dec. 21 to Jan. 1, that is 12 weekdays without classes. Dec. 17-18 are early dismissal days before the break; the table below shows which schools they apply to.

Do the Arlington ISD bad-weather makeup days mean school on March 26 or April 23?

Not by the calendar as printed. Both days are labeled “Student & Staff Holiday/Bad Weather Makeup Day”, and the legend marks them “Inclement Weather Makeup Day (if needed)”. They are days off unless the district needs them to make up a weather closure. The calendar does not say how the district decides.

Are Arlington ISD early dismissal days different for elementary and secondary?

Yes. The two calendars match except for early dismissal days. Secondary means junior high (grades 7-8) and high school (grades 9-12).
