The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) releases the October 2026 jobs report (The Employment Situation) on Friday, Nov. 6, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time (ET), per the BLS release schedule. The next one, for November 2026, is Friday, Dec. 4 at 8:30 a.m. ET. The BLS has also posted its 2027 dates, listed below and on a printable at the end of the story.

What time is the jobs report on Nov. 6?

The BLS schedule for the Employment Situation lists “October 2026” with a release date of Nov. 6, 2026, and a time of 8:30 a.m. ET. The same schedule lists “November 2026” on Dec. 4, 2026, also at 8:30 a.m. ET.

Nov. 6 falls three days after Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026. On Election Day itself the BLS releases the Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) for September 2026, at 10:00 a.m. ET, so two labor reports land in the same week. What did the September report show?

The BLS released the September 2026 Employment Situation at 8:30 a.m. ET on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026. Its summary says total nonfarm payroll employment “changed little in September (+29,000)” and gives an unemployment rate of 4.2 percent. The BLS has not published the October figures yet, and this story makes no forecast of them.

What are the jobs report dates for 2027?

The BLS Schedule of Selected Releases 2027 puts every Employment Situation at 8:30 a.m. ET on a Friday. The first is Jan. 8, 2027, for December 2026. The November 2027 release of October data is Nov. 5, and the year ends with Dec. 3. None of the 2027 dates falls in Thanksgiving week.
