Secret Santa 2026: Free Printable Draw Sheet, Wish List Lines and Exchange Dates

For a Secret Santa 2026, the United States Postal Service (USPS) recommends mailing gifts by Thursday, Dec. 17, 2026 (Ground Advantage and First-Class Mail, lower 48 states), so we built a free one-page sheet that counts back from Christmas Day. Christmas Day is Friday, Dec. 25, 2026, according to the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) federal holiday list.

The sheet has fill-in lines for the name you drew, a budget per gift, the exchange date and three wishes. You can copy those lines onto small cards for each player. The draw, wish-list and exchange dates on it are our planning suggestions, and the mailing dates come from USPS.

Secret Santa 2026 printable: draw sheet and wish list lines

The PDF is one US Letter page. It shows a countdown to Christmas Day, our planning steps and the USPS send-by dates, with blank lines for the draw and the wishes. Pin it beside the December 2026 printable calendar and write the exchange date on both.

How do you run a Secret Santa draw?

1. Pick a budget per gift and write it on the sheet before anyone joins.
2. Write every player’s name on a slip, fold the slips and have each person pull one. Anyone who pulls their own name puts it back and draws again.
3. Each player keeps the name private and writes it on their own sheet.
4. Players write three wishes, plus sizes or allergies, and hand them to the organizer, who passes each list to the giver.
5. Choose the exchange date from the table below, then work back to a mail-by day if anyone lives far away.

For a remote group, one person can draw for everyone and send each player one name by private message.

What are the exchange date options for 2026?

The weekdays below are computed from the calendar. The exchange dates are our planning picks, not source facts. The mail-by days are the USPS recommended send-by dates for delivery before Dec. 25 in the lower 48 states, from the USPS 2026 Holiday Shipping Deadlines.

Exchange option (our pick)	Date	USPS send-by dates if gifts go by mail
Last Friday before Christmas	Fri., Dec. 18	Mail sooner than Thu., Dec. 17; USPS gives no separate date for Dec. 18
Last weekend before Christmas	Sat.-Sun., Dec. 19-20	Mail sooner than Thu., Dec. 17; USPS gives no separate date for Dec. 19-20
Last weekday before Christmas	Thu., Dec. 24	Ground Advantage and First-Class Mail Thu., Dec. 17; Priority Mail Fri., Dec. 18; Priority Mail Express Sat., Dec. 19

USPS says its dates are for delivery by Dec. 25, so a gift for a party on Dec. 18 to 20 should leave earlier than the dates above. Our USPS holiday shipping deadlines story has the full list, including military and international dates.

The OPM list names only Friday, Dec. 25 for Christmas, and a federal closure on Christmas Eve, Thursday, Dec. 24, has not been announced. Check your workplace’s own holiday schedule before you plan an office exchange for that day. When is Christmas Day has the holiday itself.

When should you draw names if gifts go by mail?

This is a planning computation, not a statistic. If the last Ground Advantage send-by date is Thursday, Dec. 17, drawing names 14 days earlier, on Thursday, Dec. 3, leaves time to collect wishes and shop. We suggest wish lists back by Thursday, Dec. 10, one week before Dec. 17. If you draw later, use Priority Mail (Dec. 18) or Priority Mail Express (Dec. 19) and pay for the faster service.

Step	Date (our plan)
Draw names, hand out wish-list lines	Thu., Dec. 3
Wish lists back to the organizer	Thu., Dec. 10
Mail by (Ground Advantage, First-Class Mail)	Thu., Dec. 17
Mail by (Priority Mail)	Fri., Dec. 18
Mail by (Priority Mail Express)	Sat., Dec. 19
Christmas Day	Fri., Dec. 25

What did we leave out?

United Parcel Service (UPS) has not yet announced 2026 ground dates, so none appear here. We print no spending averages or survey figures, because none are in the sources we used.
