Singles Day 2026 falls on Wednesday, Nov. 11, and Alibaba Group, the company behind the Tmall and Taobao shopping sites, had not posted its own 2026 schedule in English as of Oct. 25. The event is also called 11.11 and Double 11, after the month and day. It lands on the same day as Veterans Day, a federal holiday in the U.S. according to the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM); see our Veterans Day 2026 story.

What are the AliExpress 11.11 dates for U.S. shoppers?

Official 2026 AliExpress dates for U.S. shoppers had not been confirmed in English when we checked on Oct. 25, 2026. They are not yet announced, so any date you see on a coupon site is unconfirmed until AliExpress posts it.

How big is Singles Day, and what did Alibaba say in 2025?

Gross merchandise value (GMV) is the total value of goods sold through a platform. In 2025, Alibaba Group said in its Nov. 15, 2025 release that it achieved “Tmall’s strongest 11.11 growth in GMV net of refunds in four years,” a quote from Bo Liu. GMV means gross merchandise value, the total value of goods sold. The release gave no total figure. Bloomberg reported on Nov. 11, 2022 that Alibaba stopped announcing a full-festival sales total starting in 2022, so no total is available to compare year over year.

Where does the 11.11 name come from?

The story most often told traces the date to students at Nanjing University in the 1990s. That is a commonly told story; Alibaba has not documented it.
