Veterans Day Parades 2026: Times and Routes in Birmingham, Houston, San Diego and More

Birmingham, Ala., holds the 79th National Veterans Day Parade on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2026, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Central Time (CT), which is 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time (ET), according to the National Veterans Day Foundation. The City of Houston says its American Heroes Parade begins at 11:30 a.m. CT, and the United States Ship (USS) Midway Museum lists San Diego’s parade from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Pacific Time (PT). The table below puts nine cities’ official times, ET conversions and routes in one place, and a printable watch guide keeps them on one sheet.

Veterans Day is Wednesday, Nov. 11 (see When is Veterans Day?), but several cities march on a nearby Saturday. We read each city or organizer page on Nov. 4, 2026. None of those pages posts a TV channel or stream, so none is listed here. For the holiday itself, see our Veterans Day 2026 story.

Birmingham’s page says: “The parade begins at 1:00pm, rain or shine!” It describes the event as “live and in person, along the streets of downtown Birmingham.” The route appears only in a map file on the foundation’s page, so we do not describe the streets.

In Houston, the “traditional Veterans Day Ceremony” is on the steps of City Hall at 10 a.m., and the city says there will be a Moment of Silence “at the 11th hour on the 11th day.” The parade then proceeds east on Dallas, north on Louisiana, west on Walker, south on Smith and west on Lamar. The city lists closures from 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10 through 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 400-500 McKinney (north curb lane) and 400-500 Walker.

San Diego’s page says the parade goes “down Harbor Drive, along San Diego’s waterfront” and gives the times as 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. PST. Victorville lists the whole event, parade and ceremony, as 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM.

The United War Veterans Council lists the New York City parade on Nov. 11, 2026 on Fifth Avenue and posts no 2026 step-off time. Our NYC Veterans Day Parade story has the time ABC7 New York reported and the route.

Why are many Veterans Day parades on a weekend?

The VA’s Veterans Day facts page says: “when Veterans Day falls on a weekday, many communities choose to hold Veterans Day parades or other celebrations on the weekend before or after November 11 so that more people can participate.” In 2026 that is why Boston, Pittsburgh, Auburn and Orlando march on Nov. 7 and Marietta on Nov. 14, while Birmingham, Houston and San Diego keep Wednesday, Nov. 11.

The VA says the Veterans Day National Ceremony is held each year on Nov. 11 at Arlington National Cemetery and “commences precisely at 11:00 a.m.” with a wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknowns. The page, last updated June 30, 2026, is headed Arlington, Virginia, 11/11/2026.

How do you find a Veterans Day parade near you?

The cities above are the ones whose official pages we could confirm; a parade missing from the table may still be held. Check your city’s or county’s events page first, then the VA’s Veterans Day regional sites list. Confirm the start time and any street closures with the organizer a day or two ahead.
