The 31st United Nations (UN) Climate Change Conference, COP31, takes place in Antalya, Türkiye, from Monday, Nov. 9 to Friday, Nov. 20, 2026, according to the UN. The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) lists the Leaders’ Summit on Nov. 11-12 and a closure of the conference premises on Sunday, Nov. 15. The opening-session time and the daily programme are not published yet.

COP31 2026 dates and what is confirmed

What is known about opening day on Nov. 9?

The date is confirmed; the time is not. UNFCCC’s information page says the programme will be published shortly before the conference starts, and the opening-session time has not been published. The same page lists the participant services below, and it gives no time zone for them.

Registration opens a day early, on Sunday, Nov. 8. On Sunday, Nov. 15 the page says the premises, including the registration desk, are closed.

When is the COP31 Leaders’ Summit?

The UNFCCC information page says the Leaders’ Summit “takes place on 11-12 November,” a Wednesday and a Thursday. Climate Home News reported on Apr. 14, 2026 that it takes place in Antalya, on Türkiye’s south coast, on Nov. 11 and 12. UNFCCC’s high-level page, which would carry the day-by-day times, did not load for this check, so no summit times are given here.

Per UNFCCC, the Green Zone is closed to visitors during the summit.

How do Antalya times convert to Eastern Time?

U.S. clocks went back on Sunday, Nov. 1, so Eastern Time (ET) is UTC-5 from Nov. 9. Antalya is on UTC+3, which makes it 8 hours ahead of ET: 09:00 in Antalya is 01:00 ET the same day. That conversion is computed here. The UNFCCC page gives only Central European Time (CET) for its deadlines, and no official page checked states the Antalya offset. UNFCCC has not published session times, so the conversion applies once they appear.

How to follow COP31

UNFCCC publishes the programme and participant information on its COP31 pages, at unfccc.int/cop31. Check the programme once it is out, because it will hold the session times that are missing now. The Leaders’ Summit page is at unfccc.int/cop31/high-level. For the dates alone, the UN announcement is at un.org/en/climatechange/cop31.
