Edinburgh's Christmas 2026 Dates: Big Wheel Hours, Torchlight Procession and Hogmanay

Edinburgh’s Christmas 2026 runs from Saturday 14 November 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027, according to the official Edinburgh’s Christmas website (edwinterfest.com), created and produced by Unique Assembly. Our day-by-day Big Wheel table and a one-page printable are below.

Daily hours are published only for the Big Wheel so far. The official site has not yet published market stall hours or closed days, so this story does not give them.

By our count the season lasts 51 days, counting both 14 November and 3 January. That assumes the attractions run on every date; the Big Wheel, for one, is closed on Christmas Day.

What are the Edinburgh Big Wheel opening times?

The official Big Wheel page lists 10:00 to 22:00, with last admission at 21:30, from 14 November 2026 to 3 January 2027. Prices start from £12, and tickets are date-specific. Residents with an EH postcode get 20% off, up to four tickets per event, according to the same page.

Seven dates have different hours. We added the weekdays:

Date	Big Wheel hours

Thursday 24 December 2026	10:00 to 20:00
Friday 25 December 2026	Closed
Saturday 26 December 2026	12:00 to 20:00

When is the Edinburgh Hogmanay 2026 Torchlight Procession?

The Torchlight Procession is on Tuesday 29 December 2026 at 18:30, according to the official Edinburgh’s Hogmanay website. The event page says prices start from £5.75.

The Hogmanay Street Party is on Thursday 31 December 2026 from 20:00, billed on the official site as “Ring in 2027”. Street Party prices are not yet published there. The same evening, “Hogmanay in the Gardens with Underworld” is listed for 20:00.

Early-bird tickets for the 2026 Street Party and Torchlight Procession went on sale on 9 January 2026 at 2025 prices, according to the festival’s news page of that date.

What is not yet published?

The official site does not yet say whether the Christmas market is free to enter, which sites it uses or when its stalls open and close. We have left those out and will not guess. Check edwinterfest.com before you travel.

Which dates should you mark?

The printable lists ten dates: the opening, the Big Wheel changes (including Christmas Day), the Family Ice Experience start, the Torchlight Procession, the Street Party and the last day. Print it, then add the dates to the November 2026 printable calendar and the December 2026 printable calendar.

What else falls in the same weeks?

Scotland’s St Andrew’s Day bank holiday falls on Monday 30 November 2026, inside the run; see our St Andrew’s Day 2026 story. For other UK Christmas events, see our Manchester and Birmingham Christmas markets story and the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland 2026 story.

Dates and hours can change. The festival’s official pages are the source for every time above, and stall hours are still to come.
