Lee County Schools Calendar 2026-27: Thanksgiving, Winter Break and Spring Break

The School District of Lee County in Florida has no school for students Nov. 23-27, 2026, for Thanksgiving Break, and Winter Break runs Dec. 21, 2026 to Jan. 1, 2027, by its 2026-2027 Instructional Calendar. Spring Break is Monday-Thursday, March 22-25, 2027, and the last day is Thursday, May 27, 2027. This is Lee County, Florida (Fort Myers and Cape Coral), not one of the other Lee Counties.

The district’s calendar PDF is marked “Board Approved 11/04/2025” and is linked from the district’s Instructional Calendar page. The next day with no school for students is Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2026.

Lee County school breaks in 2026-27

Weekdays off are our count from the district’s dates. The three Professional Duty Days (remote) are included, because students have no school on them.

Break	No school for students	Weekdays off	Students return
Thanksgiving Break	Mon., Nov. 23 to Fri., Nov. 27, 2026	5	Mon., Nov. 30, 2026
Winter Break	Mon., Dec. 21, 2026 to Fri., Jan. 1, 2027, plus Mon., Jan. 4	11	Tue., Jan. 5, 2027
Spring Break	Mon., March 22 to Mon., March 29, 2027	6	Tue., March 30, 2027

Return days are inferred from the calendar: it shows no closure on Nov. 30, Jan. 5 or March 30. Winter Break itself ends Jan. 1, New Year’s Day, but Monday, Jan. 4 is a remote Professional Duty Day.

Spring Break is four days on the calendar, Monday-Thursday, March 22-25. Good Friday, March 26, and a remote Professional Duty Day on Monday, March 29, extend it, so students are out from March 22 to March 29. Other Florida districts are compared in our Polk County calendar story and the spring break 2027 roundup.

How long are the Lee County quarters and semesters?

The calendar counts 180 school days. Quarters end on the dates below, and the first semester has 85 days and the second 95.

Quarter	Ends	School days

Can severe weather change the Lee County calendar?

It can. The calendar lists Severe Weather Make-up Days for June 1-4, 2027, after the May 27 last day, with this footnote: “In the event of extended Severe Weather Days, the school calendar will shift to make up the appropriate days.” The calendar does not say how many lost days would trigger a shift, and it does not say any have been used. The printable lists June 1-4 as unconfirmed.
