National Dog Show 2026: Thanksgiving Time, TV Channel, Peacock and Oaks Tickets

The National Dog Show airs from noon to 2 p.m. local time on NBC on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 26, 2026, in every U.S. time zone, right after the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, according to the Dog Writers Association of America. The group calls 2026 the show’s silver anniversary, its 25th year. The organizer’s own site and NBC’s press site were not reachable when we checked, so the facts below come from the Dog Writers Association of America and PhillyVoice, which agree, plus the outlets named for each figure.

What time is the National Dog Show on this Thanksgiving?

The Dog Writers Association of America says the broadcast runs noon to 2 p.m. in all time zones. That means NBC starts it at noon where you live, so the dog show begins at the same clock time in New York, Chicago, Denver and Los Angeles. PhillyVoice reports the Thanksgiving NBC broadcast but does not give a time. In 2025 the show aired noon to 2 p.m. in all time zones on NBC and Peacock, the Canine Chronicle reported.

Time zone	NBC broadcast, local time
Eastern	Noon to 2 p.m.
Central	Noon to 2 p.m.
Mountain	Noon to 2 p.m.
Pacific	Noon to 2 p.m.

Because each NBC station airs it at noon in its own zone, the show is tape-delayed per zone, not a single live feed across the country. It is taped in person on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2026, weeks before it reaches the screen. See when Thanksgiving falls this year.

What channel is the National Dog Show on, and is it on Peacock?

NBC. Both the Dog Writers Association of America and PhillyVoice say the Thanksgiving broadcast is on NBC, following the parade. For 2026, Peacock streaming and any encore airing are not yet announced. In 2025 the show streamed on Peacock at the same time as the NBC broadcast, per the Canine Chronicle. The Macy’s parade that leads into it runs 8:30 a.m. to noon Eastern Time (ET) on NBC and Peacock, per Time Out New York and CentralPark.com; our Macy’s parade 2026 guide has the route and zone times.

Saturday’s group judging and Best in Show are the segments edited into the Thanksgiving broadcast. How does Best in Show work at the National Dog Show?

Each breed is first judged against its written standard. The winners from the seven groups, Sporting, Hound, Working, Terrier, Toy, Non-Sporting and Herding, then meet for the final Best in Show, per NBC Insider. The American Kennel Club (AKC) added three breeds effective Jan. 1, 2026, bringing it to 205 recognized breeds: the Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka, the Basset Fauve de Bretagne and the Teddy Roosevelt Terrier, PBS NewsHour reported. Whether those three compete at this show is not confirmed.
