Thanksgiving Parades 2026: Detroit, Houston, Philadelphia, Chicago Start Times and TV

Detroit’s 100th America’s Thanksgiving Parade is on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2026, and steps off at Kirby and Woodward at 8:45 a.m. Eastern Time (ET), according to The Parade Company. Houston’s parade rolls at 9:00 a.m. Central Time (CT) and Philadelphia’s kicks off at 8:30 a.m. ET the same morning, according to the City of Houston and Visit Philadelphia.

This story covers the parades other than Macy’s, which is in our Thanksgiving 2026 TV schedule. It puts six cities in one table, marks which details are confirmed for 2026 and which are last year’s, and ends with a printable list. The holiday date itself is on our When is Thanksgiving? page.

What time is the Detroit Thanksgiving parade in 2026?

The Parade Company’s visitor page says the parade steps off at Kirby and Woodward at 8:45 a.m. and covers about three miles along Woodward Avenue from Kirby to Congress. Its parade page calls the event “America’s Thanksgiving Parade presented by Gardner White” and says the 100th parade is on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2026. The 99th was in 2025. The State of Michigan’s event listing also gives Nov. 26, 2026 for the 100th parade.

On TV, the visitor page lists WDIV Local 4 and a stream at clickondetroit.com. The 2026 syndication list is “due the week of November 23, 2026,” so stations outside Detroit are not yet announced. In 2025, the organizer said the parade stepped off at 8:45 a.m. on Nov. 27 at Woodward and Kirby and ended at Woodward and Congress.

When does the Houston Thanksgiving parade roll in 2026?

The City of Houston says the 77th annual H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade is “rolling through downtown again on Thursday, November 26th, 2026, at 9:00 am.” Houston is on Central Time. The city page does not give a 2026 route or a TV channel, and it links only a 2025 route map, so both are not yet posted.

What is the Philadelphia parade route and start time?

Visit Philadelphia, the city’s tourism agency, says the parade kicks off on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. It runs from 20th Street and John F. Kennedy Boulevard to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The page was last updated Oct. 23, 2026. The sources we found disagree on the parade’s edition number, so we do not give one.

The 2026 road closures are not yet posted. In 2025, the City of Philadelphia released its closures on Nov. 24 for a parade on Nov. 27 from 8:30 a.m. to noon. That parade started at 20th Street and John F. Kennedy Boulevard, dispersed via Kelly Drive and the Spring Garden Extension, and was broadcast live on 6abc. Treat those as 2025 details until the city posts new ones.

Chicago, Plymouth and Charlotte parade details

Chicago. The organizer’s site, chicagothanksgivingparade.com, was unreachable when we checked. Choose Chicago, the city’s tourism agency, lists the 92nd Chicago Thanksgiving Parade on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2026. Its two pages give different start times, 7:45 a.m. and 8 a.m. CT, and we found no 2026 route, so confirm with the organizer.

Plymouth, Massachusetts. The organizer’s press release places America’s Hometown Thanksgiving Parade on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2026, on the Historic Plymouth Waterfront and Water Street. The theme is “a celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary and the American story.” The start time is not yet announced. The organizer’s site says the parade is broadcast live on Channel 5 Boston, without tying that to a year.

Charlotte, North Carolina. The Novant Health Thanksgiving Eve Parade is on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2026, the night before Thanksgiving. The organizer says it will step off at 5:30 p.m. and air live at 6:00 p.m. The organizer’s page lists a route that begins at 9th Street and ends at Good Samaritan Way, without tying it to 2026.

What is still not announced for the Thanksgiving parades?

• Houston: 2026 route and TV channel
• Philadelphia: 2026 road closures and TV channel
• Chicago: the start time and route, and a readable organizer page
• Plymouth: start time
• Detroit: the syndication list, due the week of Nov. 23
