Blossom Word Game Answers and Hints for Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026: Today's Letters, Words to Try and Pangrams

Today’s Blossom from Merriam-Webster, for Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026, puts E in the center with the petals A, B, C, O, R and T. Solver sites list four words that use all seven letters, each 10 or 11 letters long. Below are the rules, words to try and hints for the pangrams, which are revealed in a marked spoiler section at the end.

How Blossom works

You get 12 words to score as many points as you can. Each word must be at least four letters long and include the center letter, and letters can be used more than once. Proper nouns, hyphenated words and offensive words do not count. Longer words score more, a pangram, a word that uses all seven letters, earns 7 extra points, and each use of the highlighted bonus petal earns 5 more, so check which petal is lit before each word.

Words to try

With E in the middle and A, B, C, O, R and T around it, several short words fall out quickly: Bore, Core, Tore, Bear, Care, Race, Rate and Beat. Tree is another, and it uses the center letter twice. Five-letter words such as Crate score more.

Pangram hints

• Pangram 1 (10 letters): the name of a group of bacteria.
• Pangram 2 (11 letters): a name for bacteria that turn alcohol into the acetic acid in vinegar.
• Pangram 3 (11 letters): to back up a claim with more evidence.
• Pangram 4 (11 letters): a rare word for a detractor or slanderer.
