Our free January 2027 reset planner has four pages, and its habit tracker starts on Friday, Jan. 1 and runs 31 days to Sunday, Jan. 31. The dated items on it come from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) federal holiday list and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Publication 505, and the rest of this story explains how to use each page.

What is in the January 2027 planner printable?

Download the planner PDF. It is one US Letter file with four pages, each with a job of its own:

PageWhat it holdsHow to use it
1. GoalsThree goal boxes: what you want, why, the steps, and the date you startFill it in before Jan. 1
2. Habit tracker31 rows from Jan. 1 to Jan. 31, five habit columns, weekends shadedTick a box at the end of each day
3. DatesDated items for January and February 2027 with Done boxes and blank rowsAdd your own deadlines
4. Monthly reviewDays done per habit, what went well, what to change, a February focusComplete it after Jan. 31

How does the 31-day habit tracker work?

Write up to five habits above the columns, then tick the box for each one at the end of the day. January 1, 2027 is a Friday, so the first rows are Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Every row shows the weekday initial and the date, and Saturdays and Sundays are shaded, so a reader printing in black and white can still tell them apart.

Four rows carry a dated item, taken from the next page: Jan. 1, Jan. 15, Jan. 18 and Jan. 31. A reader who tracks a daily walk or a reading habit can see on which days the routine will meet a holiday or a tax date.

Which dates are printed on the planner?

The dates page keeps only items with an official source. The OPM lists the 2027 federal holidays, and IRS Publication 505 (2026) gives the estimated tax date.

Mon., Feb. 15, 2027Washington’s Birthday, a federal holidayOPM, Federal Holidays

Publication 505 says: “If you file your 2026 Form 1040 or 1040-SR by January 31, 2027, and pay the rest of the tax you owe … you don’t need to make the payment due on January 15, 2027.” The same page lists the fourth payment, for the Sept. 1 to Dec. 31 period, as due Jan. 15, 2027. Anyone who pays estimated tax should read the publication or ask a tax professional before skipping a payment.

When does the 2027 tax filing season open?

The IRS had not announced the 2027 opening date when we checked on Nov. 4, 2026. For comparison, in news release IR-2026-12 the IRS said it “today opened the 2026 tax filing season” on Jan. 26, 2026. That is last year’s date, not a forecast, so the planner prints a write-in line for the 2027 date.

Which goal-setting tip does the planner use?

The goals page quotes the employee wellness program of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Wellness@NIH, in an article dated Feb. 3, 2020: “Write down the steps that will help you to achieve them.” The same article adds: “A journal, app, or online diary will help keep your focus.” The planner follows the first tip with lines for steps and a start date under each goal. We make no health claims beyond that advice.

How do I run the monthly review?

Fill in page 4 after Sunday, Jan. 31. Count the ticks for each habit and write the total as “days done out of 31”. Then fill in the four boxes (what went well, what got in the way, what to keep, what to change or drop), mark each goal done, partly done or not started, and write one focus for February. Page 3 has Monday, Feb. 15, Washington’s Birthday, as the next federal holiday to plan around.
