A 2027 vision board needs a plan beside it, so our free goal worksheet pairs one year goal page with 12 check-ins, one on the last day of each month from Sunday, Jan. 31 to Friday, Dec. 31, 2027. The advice behind it comes from the National Institutes of Health (NIH): “Write down the steps that will help you to achieve them,” and “A journal, app, or online diary will help keep your focus.” (Wellness@NIH, “Maintaining Healthy Habits,” Feb. 3, 2020).
The NIH page also says a habit is easier to keep when the goal matters to you: “If the goal matters to you and resonates with your present needs and interests.” That is why the goal page asks for the reason as well as the goal. The check-in dates and the layout are our own choices, not an NIH or government method.
What goes on the 2027 goal page?
The page has six lines to fill in: the goal in one sentence, why it matters to you, three written steps, and where you keep notes (a journal, app or online diary, the three options NIH names). Pin the vision board images next to it, on a cork board or a wall, so the pictures and the written steps sit together.
Monthly check-in dates for 2027
We set each check-in on the last day of the month and computed the weekday for every date. The right column adds the 2027 federal holidays from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) in the same month, which helps if you want to check in during a long weekend.
| Check-in | Date | OPM federal holiday that month |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Sun., Jan. 31 | Fri., Jan. 1 (New Year’s Day); Mon., Jan. 18 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day) |
| 2 | Sun., Feb. 28 | Mon., Feb. 15 (Washington’s Birthday) |
| 3 | Wed., Mar. 31 | None |
| 4 | Fri., Apr. 30 | None |
| 5 | Mon., May 31 | Mon., May 31 (Memorial Day) |
| 6 | Wed., June 30 | Fri., June 18 (Juneteenth, observed; June 19 is a Saturday) |
| 7 | Sat., July 31 | Mon., July 5 (Independence Day, observed; July 4 is a Sunday) |
| 8 | Tue., Aug. 31 | None |
| 9 | Thu., Sept. 30 | Mon., Sept. 6 (Labor Day) |
| 10 | Sun., Oct. 31 | Mon., Oct. 11 (Columbus Day) |
| 11 | Tue., Nov. 30 | Thu., Nov. 11 (Veterans Day); Thu., Nov. 25 (Thanksgiving) |
| 12 | Fri., Dec. 31 | Fri., Dec. 24 (Christmas, observed; Dec. 25 is a Saturday) |
Four of the 12 dates fall on a weekend: Jan. 31, Feb. 28, July 31 and Oct. 31. Check-in 5 lands on Memorial Day itself, Monday, May 31. Move any of them if the date does not suit you.
Can I check in on the full Moon instead?
You can. The U.S. Naval Observatory (USNO) lists the 2027 full Moons in Eastern Time: Jan. 22, Feb. 20, Mar. 22, Apr. 20, May 20, June 18, July 18, Aug. 17, Sept. 15, Oct. 15, Nov. 13 and Dec. 13. Write them over the month-end dates if you like a mid-month rhythm.

The one-page printable has the year goal page and the 12 check-in boxes with the dates above. Put the dates on a wall calendar too, such as our 2027 printable yearly calendar. For a 31-day start to the year, see our January 2027 reset planner, and to plan time off around the holidays in the table, read our 2027 long weekends and paid time off (PTO) planner. Our January printable calendar covers the first check-in month, and the calendar year that repeats 2027 is in what calendar year is the same as 2027.

Frequently asked questions
What goes on a vision board for 2027?
Whatever shows your goal: pictures, words or both. The printable has a goal page for the sentence, the reason and three written steps, so the board and the plan match.
Why use the last day of the month for a check-in?
It is a rule we chose, not an official one. Every month has one, so there are always 12 dates, and the table shows the weekday so you can move a check-in that lands on a weekend.
Can I use the full Moon instead?
Yes. The U.S. Naval Observatory (USNO) lists 2027 full Moons in Eastern Time: Jan. 22, Feb. 20, Mar. 22, Apr. 20, May 20, June 18, July 18, Aug. 17, Sept. 15, Oct. 15, Nov. 13 and Dec. 13.
