In this article
Nevada voters will decide two statewide ballot questions on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026: Question 6, on a constitutional right to abortion, and Question 7, on voter identification, according to the Clark County Election Department’s 2026 General Election Guide. News 3 Las Vegas (KSNV) reported on July 6, 2026 that they are the only two statewide measures to qualify. Both are constitutional initiatives that voters approved in 2024, so this is the second vote on each.
What Questions 6 and 7 would change in Nevada
| Question | Petition | Topic | A yes vote | A no vote |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 6 | Initiative Petition C-05-2023 | Abortion | Creates a new section of the Nevada Constitution to establish a person’s constitutional right to abortion | Keeps the constitution in its current form; does not affect abortion as a statutory right under Nevada law |
| 7 | Initiative Petition C-02-2023 | Voter identification | Requires in-person voters to present certain identification and mail ballot voters to provide certain information | Keeps the constitution in its current form |
The table follows the yes and no statements in the Clark County guide. The guide’s wording for Question 6 begins: “Should the Nevada Constitution be amended to create an individual’s fundamental right to an abortion, without interference by state or local governments…” Its no statement says a “No” vote “would not impact the availability of abortion as a statutory right under Nevada law.”
Question 7: what voters would show, and when it would start
The guide’s question asks whether the constitution should require voters to present photo identification when voting in person, or to provide certain personal information when voting by mail ballot. For mail voters, that information would be the last four digits of their Nevada driver’s license number, or of their Social Security number if they have no license.
The guide notes: “Under current law, Nevada voters must only show identification in certain situations.” If Question 7 is approved, the Legislature could pass related laws in its 2027 session, and the changes would take effect for the 2028 election cycle.
Why Nevada votes on these questions twice
A constitutional initiative in Nevada has to pass in two general elections. Voters approved Question 6 and Question 7 in 2024, which was the first vote. If each passes again on Nov. 3, 2026, it becomes part of the Nevada Constitution. Fox5 Vegas (KVVU) reported on Sept. 29, 2026 that Question 6 must be approved a second time this year.
A no vote in 2026 would keep the constitution in its current form, as the guide’s no statements for both questions say. Because the 2024 result is only the first step, the 2026 ballot is where each question is decided.

Frequently asked questions
How many statewide ballot questions are on the Nevada ballot in 2026?
Two: Question 6 and Question 7. News 3 Las Vegas reported on July 6, 2026 that they are the only statewide measures to qualify, and the Clark County Election Department's 2026 General Election Guide lists both.
What does Nevada Question 6 do?
A yes vote would create a new section of the Nevada Constitution to establish a person's constitutional right to abortion. A no vote would keep the constitution in its current form and would not affect abortion as a statutory right under Nevada law.
What does Nevada Question 7 do?
A yes vote would require in-person Nevada voters to present certain identification and mail ballot voters to provide certain information to cast a legal ballot. A no vote would keep the Nevada Constitution in its current form.
Why is Nevada voting on Questions 6 and 7 a second time?
Both are constitutional initiatives that voters approved in 2024. A constitutional initiative must pass in two general elections, so the 2026 vote is the second and final one.
When does a Nevada mail ballot have to arrive?
It must be postmarked on or before Election Day, Nov. 3, 2026, and received by 5 p.m. on the fourth day after, which is Sat., Nov. 7, under Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) 293.269921.
Can I still register to vote in Nevada?
Yes, in person on Election Day at a vote center until the polls close, according to the Clark County Election Department. Online registration continues through Nov. 3, but people who register online after Oct. 20 do not get a mail ballot.
