National Nurse Practitioner Week 2026: Nov. 8-14 Dates and AANP Events

National Nurse Practitioner (NP) Week 2026 runs Nov. 8-14, according to the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), which says the week is “held annually to celebrate these exceptional health care providers.” That is Sunday through Saturday. AANP’s Aug. 4, 2026 announcement names two dated events: a Today Show gathering in New York City on Tuesday, Nov. 10, and NP Spirit Day on Thursday, Nov. 12. This page lays out the week day by day and includes a free printable sheet.

NP Week 2026 day by day

The weekdays below are our calculation from AANP’s dates. The event rows are AANP’s words from its Aug. 4, 2026 post; days without a listed event are marked as such.

Date	Weekday	What AANP lists
Nov. 8	Sunday	NP Week 2026 begins
Nov. 9	Monday	No event listed
Nov. 10	Tuesday	AANP joins hundreds of NPs in New York City for a Today Show event; no time given
Nov. 11	Wednesday	No event listed
Nov. 12	Thursday	NP Spirit Day: share your photos
Nov. 13	Friday	No event listed
Nov. 14	Saturday	NP Week 2026 ends

What are the Today Show event and NP Spirit Day?

On Aug. 4, 2026, AANP wrote that it is “joining up with hundreds of NPs in New York City on Tuesday, Nov. 10,” for a Today Show event. The post gave no time, so check the show’s schedule closer to the day. We could not confirm a start time.

AANP also asked people to share their photos on NP Spirit Day on Nov. 12. The campaign heading is “Filling the Map… Again!” and the hashtag is #NPsLead.

What does AANP offer for NP Week?

AANP’s NP Week page lists a 2026 NP Week Resource Guide with a sample news release, talking points, an NP fact sheet, community activity ideas, a media interview guide, posters and letter-to-the-editor guidelines. It also offers a downloadable 2026 NP Week Proclamation. The week also reminds lawmakers to remove outdated barriers so NPs can practice to the full extent of their education and experience, AANP says.

Ways to mark the week

These are our suggestions, not AANP events:

• Write a short thank-you note to a nurse practitioner you know.
• Post a photo with #NPsLead on Thursday, Nov. 12.
• Share AANP’s NP fact sheet with a friend or coworker.
• Ask a local official to read AANP’s proclamation.

The printable sheet puts the dates and this checklist on one page.

What is not announced yet?

AANP’s pages we read give no official 2026 theme, no start time for the Nov. 10 event and no 2027 dates. We will update this story if AANP posts them.
