Today’s Quordle from Merriam-Webster is puzzle #1743, for Monday, Nov. 2, 2026. The four words end with A, Y, S and E. The clues below are grouped by each word’s last letter, because the published solutions we checked agree on the words, but only one says which board each word is on. The answers are in a marked spoiler section at the end.

How Quordle works

You have nine guesses to solve four five-letter words. Every guess is entered on all four boards at once, and the tiles color like Wordle’s: green for the right letter in the right spot, yellow for a letter in the wrong spot, gray for a letter not in that word.

Clues for each word

The word that ends with A

• Letters: starts with E, ends with A, and has an X, a T and an R inside; two vowel letters, no repeated letter.
• Meaning: more than is usual or needed; additional.

The word that ends with Y

• Letters: starts with A, ends with Y, and has an M, an I and a T inside; two vowel letters, not counting the Y, and no repeated letter.
• Meaning: friendly relations between people or countries.

The word that ends with S

• Letters: starts with L, ends with S, and has a U, a P and a second U inside; only one vowel letter, and it appears twice, so this is one of two words today that repeat a letter.
• Meaning: a long-term disease in which the body’s immune system attacks its own healthy tissue.

The word that ends with E

• Letters: starts with E, ends with E, and has an A, a G and an L inside; three vowel letters, and the E appears twice, so this is the other word today that repeats a letter.
• Meaning: a large bird of prey with broad wings and a hooked beak.

A starter strategy for today

A first guess such as Raise, with R, A, I, S and E, puts at least one letter into all four boards, because each word holds at least one of those five letters. Solve the board with the most green first, and do not spend a guess on a board that is already solved.
