The Catholic liturgical year 2027 uses the Sunday Year B cycle, which runs from Nov. 29, 2026 to Nov. 21, 2027, according to the 2027 liturgical calendar of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). Year C begins with the First Sunday of Advent on Nov. 28, 2027. Below are the season dates, the moveable dates for 2027 and a free one-page printable.

Dates and weeks come from the USCCB 2027 calendar, including its Liturgy of the Hours table: Weeks 1 to 5 of Ordinary Time run Jan. 11 to Feb. 9, Lent, the Triduum and Easter run Feb. 10 to May 16, Weeks 7 to 17 run May 17 to July 31, and Weeks 18 to 34 run Aug. 1 to Nov. 27. The calendar does not print an end date for Lent on its own, so the table keeps Lent, the Triduum and Easter as one block. Colors are from the USCCB page on liturgical colors: violet for Advent and Lent, white for Christmas Time and Easter Time, green for Ordinary Time and red for Palm Sunday, Good Friday and Pentecost Sunday.

When does Ordinary Time start in 2027?

Ordinary Time starts Monday, Jan. 11, 2027, listed as the First Week in Ordinary Time, the day after the Baptism of the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 10, which ends Christmas Time. It stops on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 10, and the calendar resumes on Monday, May 17, the day after Pentecost, at the Seventh Week in Ordinary Time. By our count of the printed weeks, 2027 has 33 weeks of Ordinary Time: Weeks 1 to 5 and Weeks 7 to 34. The last, the Thirty-Fourth or Last Week, starts Monday, Nov. 22, after Christ the King on Sunday, Nov. 21.

The same calendar lists the weekday readings cycle as Cycle 1, for Jan. 11 to Feb. 9 and May 17 to Nov. 27, 2027. The page for Nov. 29, 2026 is headed “Year B – Weekdays I”, and Nov. 28, 2027 is “Year C – Weekdays II”.

Three items are easy to miss. The Annunciation is transferred because March 25 is Holy Thursday. The All Saints obligation to attend Mass on Monday, Nov. 1 is abrogated this year, and the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe is omitted because Dec. 12 is the Third Sunday of Advent. For the 2026 holy day, see our Immaculate Conception story.

What color is each season, and when is rose used?

The USCCB page on the liturgical colors cites the General Instruction of the Roman Missal, no. 346, for rose on the Third Sunday of Advent and the Fourth Sunday of Lent. Counting from the calendar, those fall on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2026 and Sunday, March 7, 2027; the dates are our calculation from Advent’s start and from Ash Wednesday, Feb. 10. Red marks Palm Sunday, Good Friday and Pentecost Sunday, and the celebrations of the Lord’s Passion and of Apostles. White is also used for celebrations of the Lord (except of his Passion), of Mary and of the Angels.

How do Lent and Easter 2027 line up with the calendar?

Ash Wednesday is Feb. 10, the day after Mardi Gras on Feb. 9; our Lent calendar covers the weeks that follow. Palm Sunday is March 21, Holy Thursday March 25, Good Friday March 26 and Easter Sunday March 28; see what is open on Easter 2027 for the closures. The Easter date also has a when-is page, and you can mark the week on a March 2027 printable calendar or the 2027 printable yearly calendar.

What does the printable show?

The free one-page sheet numbers ten key dates on a 2027 calendar, with the season color named in the label and each date numbered, so it still reads in black and white. It is drawn from the USCCB calendar and colors page listed under Sources.
