London New Year's Day Parade 2027: Start Time, Route and How to Watch From the U.S.

London’s New Year’s Day Parade is on Friday, Jan. 1, 2027, and starts at 1 p.m. Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), which is 8 a.m. Eastern Time (ET), according to Time Out and The Late Edition. Time Out lists a 1pm start; The Late Edition lists 13:00 to 16:30. We could not open the organiser’s own site, londonparade.com, which refused automated access, so confirm the details there before you travel. What time is the London New Year’s Day Parade in U.S. time zones?

London is on GMT (UTC+0) in January, which is five hours ahead of Eastern Time. The 4:30 p.m. finish is listed by The Late Edition only. The rows other than London are our conversion.

What is the London New Year’s Day Parade route?

Time Out says the route “will move from Piccadilly, through Regent Street and St James’s, along Pall Mall and through Whitehall, ending at Westminster.” The Late Edition lists Piccadilly, Regent Street, St James’s and Pall Mall, then Trafalgar Square and down Whitehall. The two sources agree on the start on Piccadilly and an end near Westminster. They differ on the finish street, so we do not name one.

Is the parade free, and where can you stand?

The Late Edition says: “It is free to stand and watch.” Grandstand ticket holders arrive from noon, per the same guide. Grandstand prices and the seller for 2027 are not yet announced, so we give no price.

The route table above is the best guide to where to stand: Piccadilly is the start, Pall Mall and St James’s are in the middle, and Whitehall is near the end. Neither source names a viewing spot, so check londonparade.com for access points.

Who performs in the parade?

Time Out says more than 8,000 performers from across the globe take part. The Late Edition describes mostly American high school and college marching bands, plus London borough entries, heritage vehicles and floats. Headliners for 2027 are not yet announced.

What time is the London parade on PBS?

Time Out says that in America the parade is televised on the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). The 2027 air time is not yet announced, and PBS stations set their own times, so check your local PBS station listings. No UK broadcaster has been announced in the sources we used.

The Greater London Authority (GLA) says on nye.london.gov.uk: “Tickets for The Mayor of London’s New Year’s Eve fireworks are now on sale.
