The Province of Manitoba says voting places must be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. On Oct. 28, Central Time is five hours behind Coordinated Universal Time (UTC-5), so the hours convert as follows.
| Time zone | Opens | Closes |
|---|---|---|
| Central Time (CT), Winnipeg | 8 a.m. | 8 p.m. |
| Eastern Time (ET) | 9 a.m. | 9 p.m. |
| Mountain Time (MT) | 7 a.m. | 7 p.m. |
| Pacific Time (PT) | 6 a.m. | 6 p.m. |
The Province adds that a qualified voter may still vote as long as they enter the voting place before 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.
What ID do I need to vote in Winnipeg?
The City says it “requires every voter to provide proof of their name and current address by showing identification.” One option on its identification requirements page is to show two original pieces of authorized identification that together provide evidence of your name and current address. Both must have your name, and at least one must have your current address.
The City notes that its list “is not exhaustive and additional pieces of ID may be accepted.” The page also lists other options, so check it before you leave home.
Where do I vote?
The City runs a Where Do I Vote tool. In 2022 the City said a voter’s designated location could be found on the voter’s notice. The City also publishes ward boundary and school division ward boundary maps.
Is advance voting still open?
No. According to the City, advance voting ran at City Hall, 510 Main Street, from Oct. 5 to 23, at mall sites from Oct. 6 to 18, and at community sites from Oct. 19 to 22, from 4 to 8 p.m. Election Day is the last chance to vote.
Who is on the ballot?

Do other Manitoba communities vote today?
Yes. The Province of Manitoba says the next general municipal election is Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2026, so Manitoba’s municipal and school board elections share this date. The Province also lists July 24, 2026 elections in the resort communities of Victoria Beach, Dunnottar and Winnipeg Beach, which are past.
