In this article
Today’s Wordle from The New York Times (NYT) is puzzle #1965, for Thursday, Nov. 5, 2026, edited by Tracy Bennett. The answer has no repeated letter, and it has just one vowel, which changes how you plan your first guesses. Take the clues one at a time, and only scroll to the last section if you want the answer itself.
How Wordle works
You get six tries to find a five-letter word. After each guess, a green tile means the right letter in the right spot, yellow means the letter is in the word but in another spot, and gray means it is not in the word at all. A letter that appears twice is only marked twice if you guess it twice. Gray tiles matter too.

Guessing tips for today
Show the solving tips
With a single vowel, an opener that tests three or four vowels at once shows which one it is in a single row, and the rest of the hunt is consonants. Because no letter repeats, each new guess should use five letters you have not tried yet, so no tile is wasted. Every gray tile rules a letter out for the rest of the game.
